Scientists have invented a flexible battery made of
aluminum, saying it would be cheap, fast-charging, and a safe alternative to
conventional batteries.
The initial battery model consists of a soft case in which
aluminum forms one of its poles, while the graphite foam forms the other pole.
A special brine is surrounded by all the contents of the battery.

The new battery can be recharged in less than a minute,
which is safe and can be used for a long time, compared to lithium batteries.
But they only generate half the amount of energy so far.
The battery development study was published in the journal
Nature.
