The Huawei P10 did not come alone to the Mobile World
Congress. The Chinese brand is also launching its big brother, the P10 Plus.
Unlike its P9 generation counterpart, this model does not change screen
technology, offers a design identical to the P10 and makes a small modification
on the photo side.

Last year, Huawei had linked its P9 to a P9 Plus, a larger
size of 5.5 inches and, most importantly, with an Amoled Full HD screen. This year,
the Chinese manufacturer recidivates and acoquine its new P10 of a P10 Plus
It also offers a 5.5-inch touchscreen, but the latter
retains the same technology as the P10, namely an LCD LTPS. Bound ahead for
Huawei, the definition crosses a course and goes from Full HD to WQHD, or 2560
x 1440 pixels on a diagonal of 14 cm. Structurally, on the outside, the P10
Plus is similar to the P10, with a metal body rounded on the perimeter and
lines that still flourish as much as the iPhonian inspiration. Note however
that unlike the P10, the P10 Plus is intended to be splash resistant, but does
not display any IP certification.
Inside, the P10 Plus increases the base of its little
brother: the same mobile chip Huawei HiSilicon Kirin 960 (4 cores ARM
Cortex-A73 at 2.4 GHz and 4 cores Cortex-A53 at 1.8 GHz, as for the Mate 9),
but a RAM from 4 to 6 GB, and a storage capacity of 128 GB extensible via the
addition of a microSD card, against 64 GB expandable on the P10.
W-Fi a / b / g / n / ac, GPS + GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.2 and 4G
LTE category 9 are scheduled for connectivity. The 4G network part of the P10
Plus is compatible with all suitable bands, even 700 MHz (B28) and has a double
and triple aggregation of frequency bands. The whole runs on Android 7.0 Nougat
under the umbrella of the home interface Emotion UI 5.1.
In photo, a better opening on the double module
The P10 Plus boasts the same photo construction as the P10,
with the dual module system inducted by Huawei on the P9 and the Mate 9,
designed with a certain degree of Leica involvement. It is the latter which
serves as a real model since the P10 and P10 Plus adopt an identical duplicate:
a 20 Mpx black and white sensor (optical stabilization module) combined with a
conventional sensor of 12 Mpx in color. However, the P10 Plus differs from the
other Huawei photophones on the optics of its two modules.
If the P9 Plus, P9 Plus and Mate 9 dual modules have a f /
2.2 aperture and Summarit certification, the P10 Plus passes two levels higher
in Leica certification, with Summilux optics opening at f / 1.8 If the Summilux
normally cap at f / 1.7 on traditional photo optics).
We are therefore expecting the camera of the P10 Plus to
look for more light than its colleagues P and Mate, which we will not fail to
check very soon during our test of the device.
The LG G5 and G5, the iPhone 7 and the iPhone è Plus (on its
28 mm module), when the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge benefit for their Part of an
opening f / 1.7. Like the P10, the large format also gains the a posteriori adjustment
of the focus with a bokeh effect in the Monochrome mode, as well as a portrait
mode on the front sensor of 8 Mpx. A background blur created entirely by
algorithm.
The P10 Plus does not yet have an effective release date in
France, but it should settle in the spring, with Huawei focusing on our P10
countries. On the other hand, its price is known. Announced at € 799 during the
launch conference, the P10 Plus is expected to be marketed by the French
subsidiary mid-April at € 749.
